Firefighter Fitness

Firefighters are required to work in dangerous and demanding conditions that test their physical abilities to the limit.

Firefighting is a unique physical challenge that requires a combination of maximal strength, muscular endurance and overall stamina.  Firefighters will often have to deal with oddly shaped loads at heights and in awkward positions, something your average gym program fails to address!

As well as fighting fires crews must deal with the uncertainty of when emergencies will occur and the demands of shift work.
